Question for experts

If I have a mainboard with a really dead eMMC( or even without it, already desoldered) must a computer
( when that mainboard is connected to the computer)
found that mainboard and show it( port) in a device panel?
In otherwords , does this computer detection depend (almost ) only on CPU and power unit and any program from eMMC is not important for that detection?
